In true BEMF style, the 2007 Festival brings together the world’s leading soloists for original programs that simply can’t be heard anywhere else. This BEMF début recital unites gambist Philippe Pierlot, director of the acclaimed Ricercar Consort, and legendary keyboardist Jan Willem Jansen to perform works by Marin Marais—the viol’s primary Baroque advocate—and Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, second son of Johann Sebastian, whose exceptional music has been too long overlooked.
