Music of the Italian Baroque

Friends and colleagues for over 25 years, Ellen Hargis and Paul O’Dette bring an incomparable spirit of drama, vivid musical imagination, and avid interest in the undiscovered to their collaborations. This program showcases the ability of 17th-century composers Strozzi, Scarlatti, Cesti, Piccinni, and Kapsberger to affect listeners through their music, as well as this extraordinary duo’s unparalleled skill at communicating the essence of this intimate repertoire.

Tickets to the Ellen Hargis and Paul O’Dette concert on Saturday, March 8, 2008 will be available at First Church in Cambridge starting at 6pm.

“Everything sounded like a little gem as performed by Hargis and O’Dette, nuanced, natural teamwork that highlighted the best qualities of the music.”
