Concerti of J.
S. Bach, Handel, and Telemann One of the world’s first and
foremost period instrument orchestras, the Academy
of Ancient Music was founded in 1973 by the great early
music pioneer, Christopher Hogwood. Now under the dynamic
direction of harpsichordist Richard Egarr, this distinctive
ensemble will inspire audiences with their exhilarating
performances of concerti by J. S. Bach, Handel, and
Telemann with soloists Pavlo Beznosiuk, violin and
Rachel Brown, flute.
“The
Academy of Ancient Music sounded sparkling
and fresh. For three decades, this British
chamber ensemble has given illuminating
performances.” — The Washington Post
