The TALLIS SCHOLARS
directed by Peter Phillips

Music for Double Choir by Palestrina, Lassus, Gibbons, Praetorius and others
BEMF is thrilled to bring back The Tallis Scholars this spring for their 20th anniversary performance on the BEMF series. Without equal in the glorious sound world of a cappella Renaissance polyphony, their beautifully blended choral sound has won them numerous awards and countless fans around the world. For this special spring concert, they survey the antiphonal double choir repertoire inspired by the unique architecture of St. Mark Cathedral in Venice, such as Lassus’ Missa Bel’Amfitrit’altera, as well as more unified eight-part works, including Gibbons’ O clap your hands. Don’t miss this show-stopping season finale!
