The Boston Early Music Festival regretfully announces that, for personal reasons, soloist Christophe Coin will be unable to join us for the June 2017 Festival. We look forward to presenting his BEMF début at a future date. We are, however, very pleased to announce that, taking his place will be the internationally celebrated viola da gamba virtuoso and frequent guest of BEMF, Philippe Pierlot.
Music of Marais, Couperin, and Forqueray
Two of the world’s finest soloists—Philippe Pierlot and Béatrice Martin—join together for a magnificent recital of French Baroque chamber music for viola da gamba and harpsichord. For their first-ever concert as a duo, Pierlot and Martin perform captivating selections from three of the greatest instrumental
composers of the French Baroque—Marin Marais, François Couperin, and Antoine Forqueray.
