Not only was the 2003 Festival centerpiece opera a smashing success, but it became BEMF’s first-ever opera recording—securing BEMF’s first-ever Grammy nomination. Johann Georg Conradi’s Ariadne lit up the stage with sumptuous costumes designed by Robin Linklater. These stunning watercolor sketches, painted and signed by Mr. Linklater, recall those glorious onstage moments in full color and extraordinary detail.
