BEMF's production of Handel's Almira moved in to the Cutler Majestic Theatre on Wednesday evening with dancers, orchestra members, costumes, and even donkeys in tow! The cast ran through the opera on stage in preparation for the Dress Rehearsal on Friday and opening night this Sunday.
Wednesday, June 5: The BEMF Bear Returns!
Beloved member of BEMF's 2011 production of Steffani's Niobe (seen below in a photo by André Costantini), the BEMF Bear also dropped in backstage at the Cutler Majestic Theatre. While the BEMF Bear won't be participating in this year's operatic centerpiece, the BEMF production team remembered what good luck he proved to be for the Boston Bruins as they won the Stanley Cup during the 2011 Festival and arranged for a return visit for our ursine friend as the Bruins compete in the 2013 NHL Playoffs.

With just over a week to the dress rehearsal, everyone was hard at work bringing together this monumental production of this rarely performed masterpiece.
