Save the dates for the 2017 Festival—June 11–18, 2017—featuring the fully staged operatic centerpiece André Campra's Le Carnaval de Venise. This gorgeous opéra-ballet promises a dazzling parade of extravagant costumes, breathtaking dance, and phenomenal music drawing inspiration from French and Italian traditions. First performed at the theatre of the Palais-Royal in Paris in 1699, the story follows the trials of young love set against the spectacle of Venice during Carnival season. BEMF's new, fully-staged production is sure to be a feast for the senses.
